How to check if your fan is defect.
The fan is a crucial part of most MacBooks, iMacs and Mac Mini's. The fan makes sure your Mac is cooled properly so the CPU and GPU do not overheat. If you think your Mac is overheating too much a good way to check it is to install a fan monitor software that shows the RPM (rounds per minute) speed of the fan. If it does not detect the fan this might be an indication it is not working. You could of course just open the bottom plate from your Mac to check this. If you hear weird noises coming from the inside of the machine this can also indicate a defect or almost defect fan. If the ball bearings get bad it will start to make a noise. Then it's time to replace it ASAP.
